Labour deliberately circumvented the (then fairly neutral) civil service on assuming power in 1997 and has systematically politicised it ever since. And what about the inclusion of Lord Sainsbury in the Cabinet? Prior to his appointment no minister had bought their position for 200 years! Labour deliberately set out to corrupt,  control or marginalise our national institutions, all in the name of &amp;#39;modernisation&amp;#39;. Most of the time they have enjoyed support (or, at least, lack of serious criticism) in the main stream media.
